Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Vettly Hub ("we", "us"), operated out of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria, collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to everyone who uses the Service.

1. Information We Collect

Account information — when you sign up, we (via Firebase Authentication) collect your email address, display name, and, if you use Google or Apple sign-in, basic profile info from that provider.

Content you submit — reviews, ratings, questions, answers, bookmarks, follows, and product suggestions you post are stored and, except for bookmarks/follows, displayed publicly with your display name attached.

Automatically collected data — standard technical data (IP address, browser type, general usage patterns) may be logged by our hosting and infrastructure providers as part of normal operation.

2. How We Use Information

• To operate your account and display your content on the Service;
• To compute review statistics and trust scores;
• To generate AI summaries from aggregated review text (see below);
• To moderate content and enforce our Terms of Service;
• To communicate with you about your account (e.g., email verification, password reset).

3. AI Processing

When you write a review, the text of reviews for that product (not your account details) may be sent to a third-party AI provider (Groq, running open-weight language models) to generate a product summary. We don't send your email address or other account information to the AI provider as part of this process.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We rely on the following infrastructure to operate the Service:

• Google Firebase — authentication, database (Firestore), and hosting infrastructure. Data may be processed on Google's servers in various regions.
• Groq — AI-generated product summaries, as described above.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

5. Cookies & Local Storage

We use browser local storage to remember your dark/light mode preference, and Firebase Authentication uses browser storage to keep you signed in. We don't currently use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your account and content for as long as your account is active. To request deletion of your account and associated personal data, contact us at vettlyhub@gmail.com; note that content you've posted publicly (like reviews) may be anonymized rather than fully deleted if removing it would break the review history other users rely on.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to certain processing — including under Nigeria's Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023, if you're in Nigeria, or equivalent laws elsewhere. 8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
